can't save or email trace. Options · View

5.1 on win 7, when you try to save a xml trace to say c:\temp\ it says you don't have permissions, try to save to profile documents area, it looks like it saved, but file does not exist. Try to save to external usb drive, says no permissions. If I set it to email log, nothing happens when I click save. If I right click on IE and run as administrator then everything works fine when saving the file. Emailing does not seem to work either way.

Internet Explorer 7 and 8 have a security function called 'Protected Mode' which prevents IE AddOns to write to the disk (except for a few contained folders).

To allow IEWatch to write to the disk you can change the Internet Explorer setting:
Click on Tools -> Internet Options menu, click the Security Tab and de-select 'Enable Protected Mode'.
